appears to be the most lethargic unimaginative group of speech meisters
ever to gain government employment. The amount of redundancy in his smoke
and mirrors show at Fort Bragg was astounding. Virtually every sentence in

paragraphs were plagiarized from other parts of the same speech. Are we

although it will not make a whit of difference. "I think the American
people are a lot smarter than that," said Delaware Sen. Joseph Biden in
response to Bush's dishonest linkage of the Iraqi occupation to nine
eleven. "They've figured this out." If so, they seem uniquely unmotivated
to do anything about it. "There is absolutely no connection between Saddam
! Hussein and al Qaeda," said Lynne Jones, a British Laborite. "What they
have ensured, in invading Iraq, is they have actually promoted al Qaeda's
involvement in other countries, including Iraq." No evidence of this
either. "The truth is, as everyone can see, that Zarqawi and the other
extremist formations that have sprouted in Iraq are the result of the
invasion, not the reason for it," said British MP George Galloway, who

Earlier today, the Washington Post called Bush on his "omissions" and was
too polite (or politically correct) to tell it straight up—Bush ! is a
liar, the government went to war on false pretenses, thousands of people
were needlessly slaughtered, and doing the right thing, as a "nation of
laws," necessitates impeaching Bush and sending him and his conniving
Straussian cronies to the Hague. Of course, this will never happen...

half-brother Barzan al-Tikriti testified that he had ordered "revenge mass
killings," Saddam said, "If they said that and they signed this testimony,

doubted Ramadan and Tikriti had testified to that effect, "but he behaved

US, Iraqi troops kill 9 people in new offensive in western Iraq

Nine people were killed in Iraq's western town of Hit on Wednesday as US
and Iraqi troops launched their latest offensive aimed at curbing
insurgency in western Iraq, medical sources and witnesses said. "We
received nine bodies of civilians shot dead by US snipers," medical sources

the terrorists? (...) So far, the only people to use "lethal weapons" (WMD)
in Iraq have been the US Army. The same rule applies to Bush's charge that
the Iraqi resistance is "capable of any atrocity". Perhaps, he should
review his notes on Abu Ghraib and Falluja and decide who was really

Looting of ancient sites threatens Iraqi heritage

Reporter shot to death in Iraq

Yasser Salihee, an Iraqi special correspondent for Knight Ridder, was shot
to death in Baghdad last Friday. The shot appears to have been fired by a
U.S. military sniper, though there were Iraqi soldiers in the area who also
may have been shooting at the time. Salihee, 30, had the day off and was
driving alone near his home in the western Baghdad neighborhood of Amariyah
when a single bullet pierced his windshield and then his skull.
