URGENT ACTION NEEDED!

TAKE ACTION TODAY TO VOTE "YES" ON THE WITHDRAWL OF US TROOPS FROM IRAQ

Just this morning we learned that House Rules Committee has permitted Rep.
Lynne Woolsey to offer an amendment on Iraq to the Defense Authorization
Bill (H.R. 1815 - the National Defense Authorization Act for FY06).
Woolsey's Amendment is calling for the President to develop a plan for the
withdrawal of U.S. military forces from Iraq and submit a plan to the
Congressional Defense Committees. According to Woolsey's office, the
amendment will be voted on the House floor this evening during debate of
the Defense Authorization Bill. If the Woolsey amendment is adopted, it
will open the debate about Iraq and how to move towards total Iraqi
sovereignty and U.S. withdrawal.  It is urgent that you  help move this
debate forward by calling your representative TODAY and urging him or her
to vote "YES" on the Woolsey amendment.

Woolsey's Amendment:

SEC. 1223. WITHDRAWAL OF UNITED STATES ARMED FORCES FROM IRAQ.
It is the sense of Congress that the President should -

(1) develop a plan as soon as practicable after the date of the enactment
of this Act to provide for the withdrawal of United States Armed Forces
from Iraq; and

(2) transmit to the congressional defense committees a report that contains
the plan described in 11 paragraph (1).
