i prigionieri iracheni.

terrorizza»...

LA PERVERSIONE DELL’ANIMO AMERICANO
Ancora crimini di guerra
BRIAN CLOUGHLEY, Comedonchisciotte.net
sistematicamente ignorate.
tolto i genitori a sei bambini...

Tzigani, ma anche iracheni
Naoki Tomassini, Peacereporter
i leader tribali conterebbe oltre 60 mila persone. Oggi ad al Zuhoor ne
vivono circa 4 mila, in condizioni miserabili e dimenticati dalle autorità,

A TALE OF TWO RESISTANCES
Malcom Lagauche
History does repeat itself. We see that the same ethnocentrism and bigotry
released in 1991 during the Gulf War was repeated in 2003 with the illegal
invasion and occupation of Iraq by the U.S. However, there are more
precedents from antiquity that mirror those actions. William Apess was a
Native-American author and activist for Native causes. In 1836, he gave a
speech in Boston to the descendents of the Pilgrims who had decimated the
once-proud Wampanoag Indian tribe of ! Massachusetts and Rhode Island (...)
The resistance in 1675 by King Philip and the resistance by today’s
patriotic Iraqis stem from the same sickness: hatred. William Apess set the
record straight, albeit almost two centuries after the slaughter of the
Wampanoag tribe (...) I certainly hope a future William Apess will appear
and give the same eloquent and precise accounting for the U.S. aggression
against Iraq...

Giuliana Sgrena forced to shut up about what happened to her in Iraq
Xymphora
The Bush-lovin' Italian government wanerts (or here) Giuliana Sgrena to
shut up about what happened to her in Iraq, and she has apparently taken
the hint, and now claims that she does not believe the Americans were
trying to kill her. I don't blame her for this, as we don't need this issue
to blunt the effect of the reporting she will be doing regarding what took
place in Falluja. We are able to draw our own conclusions on what happened!
to her...

Syria and Lebanon: Big Time Double Standards
Kurt Nimmo
...Both Hezbollah and the persistent resistance in Iraq pose serious
threats to the Zionist plan for the Middle East. Bush may push a “Cedar
revolution” in Lebanon—hoping for an engineered democracy that will
eventually “mainstreamize” Hezbollah and flat line its radical appeal—but
this will not happen, as between 500,000 and over a million Lebanese
indicated earlier this week: Hezbollah represents resistance to Pax
Americana and Pax Israelica...

President Hugo Chavez waiting for USA to announce that Venezuela has WMD
VHeadline.com
Venezuela’s President Hugo Chavez has again spoken out against the Bush
administration saying the US is planning to portray his country as a
security threat in order to capture its vast oil reserves ... “We are just
waiting for the US to announce that Venezuela has WMD.” Mr. Chavez has
repeatedly accused George Bush of plotting to assassinate him (...)“They
want to control our oil and use it for themselves. They went to Iraq th!
inking they will control Iraq’s oil reserves but I doubt very much they
will ever control that country”...

Don't Fall Victim to America's Cash Crop: War
Vincent L Guarisco, Project for the OLD American Century
...After September 11, 2001, our nation in a weak moment of confusion and
severe vulnerability, was covertly and psychologically victimized by the
Bush war machine, in order to desensitize us into walking the old path of
Hitler's Nazism. Today's neocons use it like a snake-oil cure for saving
the "body politic" (the nation) from imaginary destruction. Just like
yesterdays false reflection, today's reality is no! different -- the same
radical belief in nationalism is being instilled, being recycled for
asserting absolute identity between self and nation....

Revealed: Israel plans strike on Iranian nuclear plant
Uzi Mahnaimi, TimesOnline
ISRAEL has drawn up secret plans for a combined air and ground attack on
targets in Iran if diplomacy fails to halt the Iranian nuclear programme.
The inner cabinet of Ariel Sharon, the Israeli prime minister, gave
“initial authorisation” for an attack at a private meeting last month on
his ranch in the Negev desert...

A Breeding Ground For Tyrants
Michael Gaddy
The irritating sound of a ringing phone brought me roughly back to reality.
I had been lost in the serenity of the snow-covered peaks of the La Plata
and San Juan Mountains of Southern Colorado. At first, there was no
immediate response to my hello. I thought it a call from a telemarketer,
but after the pause, was delighted to hear the voice of a damn good soldier
I have known for over two decades, who is on his second tour in Iraq. His
response to my question of what w! as going on over there now, still
assaults my conscience: "Well, this morning our unit went out and shot up a
bunch of civilians and our commander is writing it up as a great military
victory"...

Nuking the spin: Former UN weapons inspector talks to Raw Story on Iran, Iraq
Larisa Alexandrovna | RAW STORY Staff
... The US cooked the election in Iraq. For three days after the election
the Shia were saying “we” had 60 percent of the vote. The election was
flawed to begin with. I was not a big supporter of having a so called
democratic election under martial law where 300,000 troops were securing
the scene. I don’t think anyone would endorse elections under those
conditions...

Afghan prequel to Ghraib abuse
Times of India
Two Afghan prisoners who died in American custody in Afghanistan in
December 2002 were chained to the ceiling, kicked and beaten by American
soldiers in sustained assaults that caused their deaths, according to Army
criminal investigative reports that have not yet been made public.
(...) Among those implicated in the killings at Bagram were members of
Company A of the 519th Military Intelligence Battalion, from Fort Bragg,
NC. The battalion went on to Iraq, where some members established the
interrogation unit at Abu Ghraib and have been implicated in some abuses
there...

Opposition to Iraq war hitting US military recruitment
Black and female enlistment down sharply
David Walsh, WSWS
Recent reports indicate that growing opposition to the Iraq war, as well as
fear of death or injury in a questionable cause, are beginning to have an
effect on US Army and National Guard recruitment. This, despite bleak
economic prospects for great numbers of youth and more enticing bonuses
offered to all recruits. The Army, which has met its manpower goals every
year since 1990, has fallen! behind in 2005...

International health experts demand inquiry into number of Iraqi war casualties
Rick Kelly, WSWS
The British Medical Journal has published a statement issued by 23 public
health and epidemiology experts condemning the US and British governments
for their ongoing failure to monitor the number and rate of Iraqi
war-related casualties. Demanding that a comprehensive and independent
inquiry be convened, the statement reads, “Monitoring casualties is a
humanitarian imperative”...

Groups: Latest Abuse Investigation Report a Whitewash
Jim Lobe. Antiwar.com
Human rights groups and some senators are expressing growing frustration
over the Pentagon's failure to hold senior officers or civilian leaders
accountable for widespread abuses by U.S. forces against detainees in
Washington's "war on terror." The latest report on abuses, released at a
Senate hearing Thursday, drew new calls for Congress or the administration
to set up an independent commission...

That's me, a marine, a murderer of civilians’
Tom Whitney
...“We killed more than 30 people. That was the first time that I had to
face up to the horror that my hands were soiled with the blood of
civilians. We laid down cluster bombs on them. The people fled, and when
they arrived at the control points we had set up with armed convoys, I was
supposed to shoot the ones that looked like they belonged to ‘terrorist
groups.’ Those were the directions military intelligence gave us.”...

Head Shot
Lifting the Veil on the Sgrena / Calipari Incident
MICHAEL LEONARDI
...Who were Giuliana Sgrena's captors? Why would they say that they did not
want witnesses of the blood bath in Fallujah? How is it that these captors
would have the same threatening attitude toward journalists as the
occupying forces? What were the circumstances of her release? Why was her
trip home abruptly halted by American gunfire? If the attack was
deliberate, why was her life spared?...
