Con questa lettera aperta
intendiamo dissociarci nettamente dalla
manifestazione indetta dal
CNS a Roma per il 19 febbraio e non
possiamo condividere le
ragioni di quanti aderiscono a quella
piattaforma.
Ciò perché non vogliamo
assolutamente un'altra guerra
“umanitaria” che, come è
avvenuto in Libia, sotto la pretesa di
proteggere i civili ha
scatenato invece la ferocia dei bombardamenti e
dell'intervento NATO ed ha
aggiunto alla guerra civile, in corso sul
terreno, un altro bagno di
sangue molto, molto più grande. Crediamo
perciò che grazie al veto di
Russia e Cina la minaccia di un
"intervento umanitario" solo
per il momento sia stata scongiurata.
Pensiamo però che sia
necessaria una piattaforma di pace alternativa
che ,a partire dalla
cessazione delle violenze da entrambe le parti
(governo e bande armate della
cosiddetta opposizione), rivendichi un
vero negoziato di pace. Ciò
perché il massacro dei civili in corso
sul terreno in Siria è frutto
di una guerra civile tra due entità
armate, come ha dimostrato il
rapporto degli osservatori della Lega
Araba-censurato dal Qatar- e
come dimostrano numerose violenze sui
civili, gli attentati
terroristici, il cecchinaggio e numerose
efferatezze compiute proprio
dall'Esercito Siriano di Liberazione di
cui è alleato il CNS.
Questo ultimo attribuisce le
violenze solo all'esercito governativo e
invoca nel volantino del 19
febbraio (e nella piattaforma su cui
chiede le adesioni ) “le
dimissioni di Assad e del suo staff” e
inoltre “la difesa
internazionale dei civili secondo lo Statuto
dell'ONU”, il che equivale a
chiedere nei fatti il cambio di regime
a mano armata e nuovamente
quell'intervento militare internazionale
che è stato momentaneamente
fermato dal veto in Consiglio di
sicurezza dell'ONU. Questa
strada porta direttamente alla
guerra”umanitaria” della NATO
contro la Siria ed a legittimare
l'intervento militare già in
atto in Siria con truppe della Turchia,
del Qatar, della Libia,
dell'Arabia Saudita e di tutte le
petrolmonarchie del Golfo che
stanno da tempo fomentando la guerra,
appoggiando con mezzi
militari e mediatici l'opposizione armata in
Siria.
L'esperienza delle cosiddette
guerre umanitarie dell'ultimo
quindicennio ci ha insegnato
che nessuna retorica dei diritti umani o
di “contingenti necessità”
può mascherare la realtà della
guerra con i suoi lutti e le
sue devastazioni senza fine. L'unica
strada per fermare il
massacro di civili è quella di fermare le
violenze, non di amplificarle
invocando l'intervento occidentale.
Invitiamo pertanto tutte le
associazioni che ripudiano la guerra a
dissociarsi apertamente dal
CNS e dalla sua piattaforma.
Invieremo oltre alla presente
lettera la piattaforma di pace da noi
proposta.
