Comparing Iraqi Victims with Victims from the Indian Ocean Tsunami
Stan Moore, Media Monitors Network
The recent destructive tsunami caused by an earthquake in the Indian Ocean
was no doubt a terrible disaster (...) Unfortunately, though, the Iraqi
people have experienced a different sort of tragedy, which has killed well
over 100,000 innocent Iraqis (...) Tsunamis are disasters. Invasions are
crimes against humanity. Tsunamis are unavoidable by human effort.
Invasions and colonization must be resisted, prevente! d, and even punished
after the fact...

Iraq abuse "went on until July"
Reuters
Sexual and physical abuse of Iraqi prisoners continued at least three
months after the Abu Ghraib scandal was revealed, according to accounts by
alleged victims published in the latest issue of Vanity Fair magazine.

he conducted with 10 former detainees including a 15-year-old boy, quoted
several accounts of mistreatment that included Iraqi prisoners being
sexually assaulted by American soldiers or be! ing hooded, beaten,

Will the Islamic Army in Iraq Attack America?
Kurt Nimmo
...Any attack on America in the name of the Iraqi resistance, of course,
would go a long way in turning around the American public's growing
skepticism of Bush's Iraqi quagmire. Either the Islamic Army in Iraq is
stupid or they are not who they claim to be. Qui Bono? Certainly not the
Iraqis. Bush desperately needs public opinion where it was in the weeks and
months following the 9/11 attacks. He needs America's sons and daughters to
willingly donate! their lives to the Strausscon-neolib plan to "reshape"
the Middle East. How better to do this than stage Iraqi resistance attacks
in America?...

An interview with Saddam Hussein
Sandy Shanks, The Daily Tribune
...He stated calmly, "He [Bush] will leave Iraq by the small door because
Iraqi Resistance is well prepared. It was prepared quite ahead of war. I
had joined together the military and political commands and we had prepared
this new page of the war against the Americans. What arrives today is not
the fruit of chance." Readers of this column are not the least bit shocked
by Saddam's statement. They read here on Aug. 22, 2003, "… captured
documents 'h! ave given some indication that preparations for a resistance
movement were made prior to the war.' [They] further state that General
Abizaid, CENTCOM's commander, views the current fighting in Iraq a
'classical guerilla-type campaign,' and that the resistance is comprised of
the paramilitary Fedayeen Saddam, and 'Republican Guard soldiers'...

IRAQ: Death in Fallujah rising, doctors say
Integrated Regional Information Networks news
"It was really distressing picking up dead bodies from destroyed homes,

in since the war started," Dr Rafa'ah al-Iyssaue, director of the main

to al-Iyssaue, the hospital emergency team has recovered more than 700
bodies from rubble where houses and shops once stood, adding tha! t more

Bush Should Not be Assassinated
DOUG BASHAM, www.OpEdNews.com
...What I do wish is for Bush to be driven from office in shame and
disgrace - as he deserves - with the media providing close-up after
close-up of his smug, arrogant and hopefully ever reddening, smirky face. I
do not wish to see him removed from office in a wooden box, with the media
falling all over one another to finally provide America with coverage of a
flag draped coffin. That would be a travesty, and would only further serve
to dishonor every A! merican soldier who needlessly died in Iraq under
Bush's murderous watch...

The Fallacious Notion that News Coverage is Objective
BUZZFLASH
...Okay, let's take Fallujah for example. The American military and its
Iraqi puppet government restricted virtually all reporters from covering
the latest massive assault, in which it is likely that perhaps hundreds or
thousands of civilians were killed. Yet, the nightly newscasts, cable
television, and newspapers almost universally printed the Pentagon accounts
of the Guernica-style decimation, without any counter-reporting or
skepticism about "new! s accounts" exclusively obtained from the Pentagon.
Is this reporting "news," or simply passing along propaganda?...

President Bush this week that the United States and its Iraqi allies are
not winning the battle against Iraqi insurgents Iraqi insurgents who are

Congress expects $100 billion war request
Peronet Despeignes, USA TODAY
Congress expects the White House to request as much as $100 billion this
year for war and related costs in Iraq and Afghanistan, congressional

billion. So far, the Iraq war has cost about $130 billion, according to the
White Hous! e's Office of Management and Budget...
