Dear Campaigners,

As you are aware, a signature/ratification ceremony for the TPNW will take place in New York on 26 September. Unfortunately, this will not be open to civil society.

However, a limited number of representatives of civil society will be able to attend the high-level event to mark the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons. See details below.

Please note that, in order to attend this event, you will need to apply by 25 August.

ICAN does not have funding available to sponsor campaigners to attend this event.

On Wednesday, 26 September 2018, a one-day high-level plenary meeting of the United Nations General Assembly will take place at UN Headquarters in New York with the aim to commemorate and promote the International Day for the Total Elimination of Nuclear Weapons.

At the request of the Office of the President of the General Assembly, UN-NGLS is facilitating a process for stakeholders to apply to attend this special event as observers.
